Welcome to Amoris ("the App", "the Service", "we", "us", "our"), developed and operated by Knopper (knopper.ro). We are committed to safeguarding your privacy and ensuring you have complete control over your personal data.

This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect when you use the Amoris mobile application (Android APK) and website (knopper.ro/amoris/), how we use and protect that information, our integrations with Meta (Facebook & Instagram), and how you can exercise your data rights, including requesting complete deletion of your data.

🔒 Core Privacy Commitment: We do NOT sell, rent, trade or licence your personal data — not to advertisers, not to data brokers, not to anyone. This covers everything: what you enter yourself, your photos and messages, your location, and the details we receive from Facebook, Instagram or Google when you sign in with them. We have never done so and the app has no mechanism to do so. Your profile data is used exclusively to facilitate genuine dating connections.

1. Information We Collect

A. Account & Profile Information

Registration Data: Email address, telephone number, birthdate (to verify age 18+), and gender. Passwords are never stored in plaintext — they are securely hashed using modern cryptographic algorithms (BCrypt).
Dating Profile: Display name, city or approximate location, bio/about me description, and profile photos that you upload or choose to import.
Match Activity: Swipe preferences (likes, passes, super likes) and chat messages exchanged with mutual matches.

B. Social Login Integrations (Meta / Instagram / Facebook)

When you choose to authenticate using Continue with Instagram or Continue with Facebook, we receive authorization through Meta's secure OAuth API:

Basic Profile Data: Your public user ID, display name or Instagram username, and email address associated with your social account.
Instagram Photos & Media: Only when you explicitly use the photo import feature, we access your public media URLs to import photos you choose to feature on your dating profile.
OAuth Tokens: Encrypted access tokens required to communicate securely with Meta APIs on your behalf. We never have access to your private Facebook or Instagram passwords.

C. Technical & Device Information

Device Data: App version, operating system version, and general device model to ensure compatibility and troubleshoot technical issues.
IP Address & Approximate Location: Used to display nearby profiles in your region and prevent spam or abusive activity.

2. How We Use Your Information

To create, verify, and maintain your Amoris dating account.
To display your dating card (photo, display name, city, bio) to prospective matches in the Discover feed.
To calculate mutual matches and enable direct messaging between matched users.
To import selected photos from your connected Instagram account at your request.
To prevent fraudulent behavior, abusive accounts, bot activity, and ensure community safety.
To provide technical support and respond to user inquiries.

3. Third-Party Services & Disclosures

We work with trusted third-party providers strictly for operational purposes under confidentiality obligations:

Meta Platforms, Inc. (Facebook Login & Instagram Graph API): Facilitates user authentication and photo import. Operates under Meta's Privacy Policy.
Cloudflare: Provides DDoS protection, SSL/TLS encryption, and web performance optimization.

4. Data Storage & Security

We implement robust technical and organizational security measures to protect your personal information:

All web and mobile communication is encrypted in transit using modern HTTPS / TLS 1.3.
Passwords are salted and hashed using industry-standard BCrypt encryption.
User data is stored in dedicated, access-controlled PostgreSQL database servers.
Authentication tokens are securely stored and verified using signed JSON Web Tokens (JWT).

5. User Data Deletion Instructions (GDPR & Meta Policy)

In accordance with GDPR Article 17 and Meta Platform Policies, you have the right to request the permanent deletion of your account and all associated data at any time.

How to delete your Amoris account & data:

In the Amoris app (fastest): Sign in → Settings → My Account → Delete my account, then confirm. Your profile is hidden immediately and you are signed out on every device.
On the web: Use the Delete your Amoris account page. If you cannot get into the app, the form there files a deletion request that we process manually; we may email you to confirm ownership before deleting anything.
Via Meta Facebook / Instagram Settings:
- Go to your Facebook / Instagram Settings & Privacy → Apps and Websites.
- Find Amoris → Click Remove.
- Click View Removed Apps and Websites → Click Send Request next to Amoris to trigger automated data deletion callback.
By Direct Email Request: Send an email to our Data Protection team at [email protected] or [email protected] with your registered username or email.

The 30-day recovery window. When you delete your account it is deactivated at once — your profile is hidden from all other users and your sessions are revoked — but the data is retained for 30 days so that a deletion made by mistake can be undone. Sign in again within those 30 days and you will be offered the chance to restore the account exactly as it was. Once the 30 days elapse, an automated job permanently erases the data and it cannot be recovered by us or by you.

What is permanently deleted after 30 days: your account record (email address, phone number, password hash, date of birth, gender), your profile (display name, bio, city, height, interests, location), all uploaded photos including any imported from Instagram or Facebook, Instagram and Facebook connections and media tokens, all swipes, matches and chat messages, your matchmaking rating and its history, and the notification tokens for your devices.

What we retain, and why: security and abuse-prevention records — sign-in attempts and server logs, which contain an IP address and device model — are kept for up to 12 months to protect the service against fraud and account takeover, and records we are legally obliged to keep (such as purchase receipts, for tax purposes) are kept for the period the law requires. Neither is linked to a usable account once deletion completes.

6. Age Restriction (18+ Only)

Amoris is strictly intended for adults aged 18 years or older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 18. If we become aware that a user is under 18, their account and data will be immediately and permanently deleted.

7. Your Rights Under GDPR (European Union) & CCPA

As our operations are based in Romania (European Union), all users are granted full rights under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including:

Right of Access: Request a copy of all personal data we hold about you.
Right to Rectification: Update or correct inaccurate profile details at any time in the app.
Right to Erasure ("Right to be Forgotten"): Request complete deletion of your records.
Right to Restrict or Object to Processing: Withdraw consent for data processing.
Right to Data Portability: Request your data in a structured, machine-readable format.

8. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this policy periodically to reflect enhancements to our service or changes in applicable legal regulations. When changes occur, the updated policy will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.
